Fred Appleyard
A very well regarded and popular artist Fred Appleyard had 41 paintings
exhibited by the Royal Academy during his lifetime. He also painted
the murals for the room that is now the RA's café. The Tate's
collection owns one of his works.
Appleyard often painted romanticised works featuring either wealthy
families or "wood nymphs". These also often featured outdoor
settings such as ruined buildings or stone.
