"No-one else sees nature quite in the same way"
Mary McCrossan
Born in Liverpool in either 1863 or 1864, Mary McCrossan studied
in Liverpool, at Delacluse's Paris and under Olsson in St. Ives.
She lived in Chelsea until 1929 when she finally moved to St.
Ives.
Highly regarded and with an individual style - as can be seen
from this painting. It was said of her: "No-one else sees
nature quite in the same way". Mary McCrossan was a member
of the RBA (Royal Society of British Artists) and had some 20
paintings exhibited at the RA.
